Hello,

I've hopped around this forum for a bit attempting to locate the info I need to solve my problem. My current sound card is an on-board via8237 model. This has been set up for 6 channel use, my computer uses it that way, and is recognized as such by mixxx (hw:0:1), and is also recognized as a simple 2 channel by mixxx (hw:0:0) This is on an Ubuntu 9.04 system, 2.8GHz P4 Dual Core cpu, 1GB ram, Biostar mobo. I'm thinking that JACK may fix the problem, by letting me route sound to separate output jacks...when I tell my computer to duplicate the front channels to the rear, I get front channel signal to the rear speaker output(line in) jack. Anyway, the problem I have is this: When I select the 6 channel card option (hw:0:1) I get the error message "Configuration Error: Audio Device Could Not Be Opened".

Please help.

I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.
